Custom domain

Your site works on the platform address right away. A custom domain is available on the Pro plan: two DNS records, and we issue the SSL certificate ourselves.

Connecting

  1. Open Domains
    “Settings” → “Domains” → “Connect a domain”.
  2. Enter the domain
    In “A domain you already own”, enter the address without https:// — for example, shop.example.com — and click “Next”.
  3. Add the DNS records
    Shopiforge shows two records: a TXT record that proves the domain is yours, and a CNAME that points the domain to your site. Copy them with “Copy” and add them at your domain registrar.
  4. Check
    Come back to “Domains” and click “Check now”. Once the status is “Active”, the SSL certificate has been issued.
  5. Move the site
    Click “Serve the site here” — within seconds your site opens on your domain.

Statuses

  • “Waiting for DNS” — the records aren’t visible in DNS yet.
  • “Awaiting verification” — the records are found and being checked.
  • “Active” — the domain works and the SSL certificate is issued.
TIP

DNS can take up to a few hours to update. The platform address keeps working the whole time — and after you disconnect your domain, too.

Switch back or disconnect

  • “Back to the subdomain” — the site opens on the platform address again; the domain stays connected.
  • “Disconnect” — the domain is removed from the store. You can connect it again later.
